NARRATIVE // THEME PARK
The concept theme parks bear on my mind when I am travelling. In cities people gather to witness the spectacle and gawk at the next big thing. Images from Tokyo show people staring at the GUNDAM robot and children musing on new toys. Of course this is all propagated by the needless want for the new that plagues our modern societies. I couldn't help thinking when visiting some of the areas around Tokyo that there is a world of nature there to explore. There is so much on offer in these "theme parks" that is forgotten. The landscape images are stark and barren in the mid day sun, seemingly forgotten, and give me a feeling of loneliness. They contrast sharply with the images of the city.
